Diagnostic Testing

At Doctors for Women, we offer several important diagnostic procedures on site, which allows us to screen, monitor, and evaluate patients right in our office.

• We draw blood for samples to send to a lab.
• We perform breast, cervical, and endometrial biopsies to confirm or identify abnormal tissue in the body. A small sample of tissue is taken, usually with a needle, and examined under a microscope. A breast biopsy checks for breast cancer, a cervical biopsy checks for cervical cancer, and an endometrial biopsy is done to check for uterine cancer or to determine the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding.
• We do colposcopy when a Pap smear is abnormal. Colposcopy checks for cervical cancer, HPV, or other viral, bacterial, or yeast infections.
• We perform 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasounds during pregnancy to evaluate the fetus and determine gender.
